Pulse is a workplace wellbeing app provided to you through your employer's programme with Kofuku. This page explains what the app collects, why, and who can see it.
Kofuku operates Pulse and is responsible for the personal data described below. Your employer arranges the programme and receives the reporting described under What your employer sees.
| Data | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Name, work email, phone number, assigned user ID, company, programme period | Entered by your programme administrator |
| Date of birth, gender, height, weight, waist circumference, activity level | Entered by you |
| Health check results — including blood pressure, body composition, blood glucose, cholesterol, kidney and uric acid markers | Entered by the Kofuku wellness team after a health check, or recorded by you |
| Daily logs — water, sleep, mood and what affects it, exercise, food and calories | Entered by you |
| Step count and heart rate | Read from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, only if you grant permission |
| Sign-in records, app diagnostics and crash reports | Collected automatically when you use the app |
If you allow it, Pulse reads your step count and heart rate from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, and may read historical readings so your earlier activity appears in the app. Pulse does not write anything to Apple Health or Health Connect. You can withdraw this permission at any time — in the Health app or your iPhone settings, or in Health Connect or your Android settings; the rest of the app keeps working, and you can log steps manually.
You see everything in your own account.
The Kofuku wellness team can see your individual profile, health check results and daily logs, so they can enter your results and support you.
What your employer sees: your employer receives aggregated reporting about programme participation and wellbeing. Your individual readings are not shared with your employer for their own purposes.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
We keep your data while your account is active on your employer's programme.
You can delete your account in the app from Profile → Delete Account, or ask us by email if you can't use the app. Your account is then permanently deleted after 30 days; signing in again before then cancels the deletion. We email you when the request is made and when the deletion is done.
After deletion we keep only aggregated programme reporting that no longer identifies you, a record that an account was deleted without your name, email or health data, records of actions our team took on your account with your details removed, and records we are required to keep by law. Encrypted backups of our database are kept for 15 days, so your data is gone from them within 15 days of your account being deleted, and a deleted account is never brought back from a backup.
Full details, including what happens for family members: Delete your account.
Pulse signs you in with a single-use link rather than a password. Data is encrypted in transit, and access by the wellness team is restricted to the people supporting your programme.
Pulse is provided to employees through an employer programme and is not intended for anyone under 18.
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
Questions about your data, or to make a request: [email protected].
Pulse is informational only and is not a medical diagnosis. Always consult a healthcare professional about your health.
